German black metallers ready for the new year

Carthaun was formed at Rostock (Germany) in 2000. Despite many strains and changes of members, it is since then that Carthaun plays traditional black metal, performing mainly German lyrics derived from more or less famous writers of past and present times.

The ominous stronghold CARTHAUN have released another impressive album. Their new work, ‘Staub und Schatten’ (‘Dust and Shadows’), was released on December 18th, 2015 by Northern Fog Records.  The 4th album by CARTHAUN manages to build on the strengths of previous albums by maintaining and further refining a fundamental balance between aggressive Black Metal and old German language while a range of technical, hard and imposing sounds are perfectly aligned.

Getting deeper into the music, you will notice that these irrepressible idealists incorporate the works of great literary poets of the past into their work, creating an equilibrium between old and new scenes. Using this concept, CARTHAUN have secured themselves a unique selling point.
