Brighton-based indie-rockers Creeping Jean have been on a roll. Following the release of their Record Store Day exclusive Clothes Shop 7-inch earlier this year and their second album Business Is Dead late last year, the band have toured with Rival Sons, The Sheepdogs, and shared stages with Miles Kane, Tom Rowley (Arctic Monkeys) and These Wicked Rivers—each show turning the heat up another notch.
So hot, in fact, that Jimmy Page himself turned up to see them at their sold-out 100 Club show with Karma Sheen last week.
Frontman Olly Tooze reflects:
“It was the biggest honour to have Rod’s friend Jimmy Page at our recent 100 Club London show. He took the time to speak with me and said how much he enjoyed the band’s chemistry and energy on stage, calling it amazing from start to finish. Jimmy also mentioned that Rod and I share a unique connection and understanding as guitar players — a truly special moment for all of us. I still can’t quite believe it.”
Now, Creeping Jean are bottling that live energy with a brand new EP — Live Business At The Barn — capturing some of last year’s tunes in their rawest, most electric form, alongside a few surprise covers.
