For Cast, 2025 has been a rare opportunity to simultaneously reflect on their storied past and look confidently towards the future. Between their sensational stadium shows with Oasis and filling venues with their current ‘All Change’ tour, they’ve thrilled fans with the classic songs that made them Platinum-certified Top 10 regulars in the ’90s. But new songs ‘Poison Vine’, ‘Way It’s Gonna Be (Oh Yeah)’ and ‘Calling Out Your Name’ have earned extensive UK airplay and renewed media interest in North America. Collectively they prove that the new album ‘Yeah Yeah Yeah’ will be a second peak for the reenergised Cast when it’s released on January 30th via Scruff of the Neck.
That belief will be further fuelled by the new single ‘Free Love’, which songwriter John Power is particularly excited about. Equal to the highest points in their catalogue, ‘Free Love’ is anthemic, elegiac and given a grandiosity via its stirring string accompaniment: it is unifying in the way that only music can be. And in a world in which songs are often shrouded in metaphors, ‘Free Love’ is a gloriously straight-to-the-point message: “All I need is a love that’s going to set me free.”
‘Free Love’ adds to the anticipation ahead of ‘Yeah Yeah Yeah’. Recorded in Spain with the legendary Youth, it’s the sound of a band invigorated by positive momentum and informed by experience. Its songs hit the essential traits you want from a Cast record: hard-hitting rock ‘n’ roll hooks, arena-scaled anthems and atmospheric slowburners all vying for dominance.
The ‘Yeah Yeah Yeah’ launch was recently boosted when all 500 copies of a special Blood Records vinyl edition sold-out in no time at all. But multiple other formats are available HERE, ranging from standard CD and cassette releases to a striking cornetto vinyl, through to bundles offering a home or away football shirt with a CD and digital download.
Cast conclude the ’30 Years of All Change’ tour with a handful of remaining shows in January, before commencing their ‘Yeah Yeah Yeah’ album release shows later that month.
