On Friday, August 22nd, Canadian Roots, Rock, and Soul band Bywater Call will release their highly anticipated live album Sunshine. The album is available on CD and vinyl HERE and on all major streaming platforms HERE.

Sunshine is Bywater Call’s first live album. It features a mix of newly released music, including the cover of the Stephen Stills classic “Love The One You’re With” and the funky new original title-track “Sunshine” (previously released as a single in May 2025), plus fan favourites “As If,” “Sign of Peace,” and “Everybody Knows” from 2024’s Shepherd album, and “Bring Me Down” taken from their 2019 eponymous debut album.
The highly anticipated live album is an epic, energetic revelation for the uninitiated, and a perfect snapshot as to why Bywater Call win new fans across the globe.
“It’s hard to explain what we do live to those who haven’t been there” says lead singer Meghan Parnell. “There is an energy within the band and between us and the audience that kind of carries you away.”
Continues Meghan, “It’s never a straight playdown of the studio recordings, but instead it’s an expansion and experimentation for those ideas. There are moments in the show that will be completely different every night, even if the set list is the same. I think we’ve really managed to capture the essence of this on Sunshine.”
Songs feature extended jams, fiery solos, and haunting introductions from shows in Toronto, Canada, Woodstock, New York, USA and Newbury, UK.
The live performances feature the extraordinary talents of Dave Barnes (guitar, slide), Mike Meusel (bass), Bruce McCarthy (drums), John Kervin (keyboards), Julian Nalli (sax), and Stephen Dyte (trumpet).

Often transcending genres, Bywater Call is known for their dynamic, emotional live shows, featuring powerful vocals and exciting interplay between all band members.
In their August 2024 issue, Classic Rock Magazine made Bywater Call’s 2024 album Shepherd their “Blues Album of the Month“, and said it was “an inventive and uncommonly catchy record,” and added, “the sense of a band on the brink is unmistakable.” The album was also selected as the “Top Blues Album of the Year” in the magazine’s year-end round-up.
