Birmingham trio Blue Nation are set to release their brand-new EP ‘Wisdom for Pennies’ on July 24thand the first single ‘Watch Me Fly’, is out now on all streaming platforms.

‘Watch Me Fly’ reflects both personal growth and the band’s continued rise, showcasing their signature mix of raw energy, emotive songwriting, and modern blues-rock edge. It’s about surviving chaos and reclaiming yourself, the band comment:

“Luke wrote the riff, and we wanted to lean into it. We knew that this song would hit a little harder, but we wanted something more vulnerable and cinematic this time in the lyrics and overall production of the song. We kept saying to each other. This is how chaos and defiance meet!”

The full EP will be released on July 24th and will be available on all streaming platforms. On the new EP release, Neil explains:

“Every band says this is their best work. For us, it’s just the most honest. We know who we are now, what we do, and what we’re capable of when we really push ourselves. These songs came from emptying the tank, then getting back up and doing it again. There were moments in the studio where we felt spent, but someone would always pull the rest of us back in and say, “We can go further.”  There’s an edge and an anger in these songs we’ve never fully captured before, but it’s still rooted in the vulnerability that’s always been part of Blue Nation.”

Blue Nation’s songs are delivered with soul and passion, highlighting the chemistry and musical firepower of three accomplished musicians who continue to sharpen their sound with every release. Their live performances remain a standout experience, combining powerful musicianship with an undeniable stage presence that leaves audiences wanting more.

The band’s momentum shows no sign of slowing. Recently crowned UK Blues Federation’s Emerging Band of the Year 2025, Blue Nation have firmly cemented their place as one of the most exciting acts on the UK blues-rock circuit.

Their first show of the year saw them storm Planet Rock’s Winter’s End, setting a president for what is to come at Steelhouse Festival in July, alongsidetheir own run of headline shows from September and Planet Rockstock in November

Blue Nation’s growing list of achievements includes appearances on the Main Music Stage at the F1 British Grand Prix at Silverstone (twice), tours and shows alongside artists such as Dirty Thrills, Steve Conte (New York Dolls), Skid Row, and Brian Downey (Thin Lizzy), and recognition from Planet Rock as “Ones to Watch”.

With ‘Watch Me Fly’ leading the way, Blue Nation are poised to take another significant step forward in 2026.
