In case you missed it, Black Eyed Sons have just unveiled their new video for ¨Savoir Faire,¨ a swaggering, street-lit homage to Mink DeVille. This track digs deep into the grit and glamour of 1970s New York, featuring a star appearance from Alan Clayton of The Dirty Strangers. It’s a collaboration that feels as smooth as a late-night dive-bar conspiracy!
As guitarist Guy Griffin explains, “We wanted a live performance video, but we also wanted a rough storyline echoing the New York rock ‘n’ roll scene of the mid-seventies—an amazing period in music. So many bands, especially Mink DeVille, influenced me. Alan and I are huge fans, and having **Steve Conte** play on the track was perfect—he actually played in Willy DeVille’s band.”
The “Savoir Faire” video pairs Black Eyed Sons’ raw energy with a cinematic homage to the Bowery, Times Square neon, and the pulse of downtown rock clubs. It’s a love letter to the era that shaped them, reminding us that the attitude of Mink DeVille still resonates fiercely in modern rock ‘n’ roll.
“Savoir Faire” is the final single from the band’s UK Number One album, *Cowboys in Pinstriped Suits*, and its release aligns perfectly with Black Eyed Sons’ first run of UK shows this December—a heartfelt victory lap brimming with nostalgia, grit, and fresh fire.
