Published:

“The song parodies talking to a therapist, or more like a Shaman/Fortune Teller. One who believes a person torments themselves with painful feelings to become numb. The idea is that if you say enough painful things about yourself, to yourself, you begin to believe you are defined by your misery.
 Leon Hunter – Vocals

Both musically and visually the band strike at their very roots, adorning their stages with the wickerman-esque pagan imagery from the folklore of their homeland. The band draw on Celtic tradition via a collaboration with Rob Heaslip’s Strawboys, a project exploring a modern interpretation of Skekling. The practice was performed on the Shetland Isles to ‘bring the sun back from the grip of winter’. Children and adults would don menacing straw costumes, woven with particular patterns, covering their faces, and disguising their voices to embody otherworldly beings.

“I am captivated by ancient traditions of faceless costumes. They fully transform a person into something which isn’t human. They usually embody something, a spirit, a single emotion, and relieve us from the constraints of being polite.”
Cam Hunter – Drums

Co-produced by the band and George Perks (Enter Shikari, Skindred) at the illustrious Vada Studios, Seer combines enigmatic electronics with bold anthemic songwriting to create a dramatic sound which is cinematic and cutting.

Having recently gained popularity on TikTok using captivating content to showcase themselves to fans of their influences, such as Biffy Clyro and Nine Inch Nails, North Atlas now boast over 20.5K followers on the platform and have seen an incredible increase in engagement with a 500%+ increase in streaming alone in the past 28 days.
