DUNES debut album ‘TAKE ME TO THE NASTIES’ is due for release via SAPIEN RECORDS (We Are Knuckle Dragger, Big Lad, Tank Engine, Scott Michael Cavagan) on 7th of September 2019. The album was recorded throughout August, September, and October of 2018 at the Sandcastle in Newcastle with Graham Thompson (Jinn, Frankie And The Heartstrings, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaind) who worked on the bands previous EP’s. The album was mastered by Dave Draper (Wildhearts, Kerbdog, Nickelback, Terrorvision).
DUNES formed in Newcastle-Upon Tyne towards the back end of 2016 and wasted no time writing and recording material, releasing 2x 5-track EP’s within 18 months, before beginning work on their debut album. Taking their musical influences and cues from the likes of Torche, Clutch, Red Fang and Queens Of The Stone Age DUNES write hook and riff driven songs that have helped the 3 piece build up a solid live reputation in their own region and further afield.
During their relatively short existence DUNES have shared the stage with an eclectic mix of bands including American rock heavy weights; Red Fang and Monster Magnet, 6 Music Favourites; Idles and Boy Azooga, emerging bands such as The Picturebooks, Tequlia Mockingbyrd and SKAM, and British underground legends Mutation (Ginger Wildheart), Eureka Machines and Vennart. DUNES have also appeared at a number of UK Festivals so far including Evolution Emerging (Newcastle), Tramlines (Sheffield), Solfest (Cumbia) and Coquetfest (Northumberland).
