Glenn Richards, front-man of the acclaimed Australian rockers Augie March, has announced details of his next new album Glenn Richards and the Venus Lakes, ‘The Great Behind’, due for release on October 9th, 2026 on Johnny Depp’s IN.2 Records. Plus there are four UK shows, three of them across London!

An astonishingly-adept musical mish-mash of Aztec Camera meets Felt meets The Traveling Wilburys, ‘1990Never’, according to Richards, is “almost certainly the first popular music song of 2026 to feature the baglamas, a tiny bouzouki one must smuggle by hook and/or crook, through Greek customs. I had come to regard this as a bit of fluff and was set to discard it, but to my surprise and pleasure the rhythm section were full of beans for it, which is all it takes for me these days.”
Richards’ new solo album, ‘The Great Behind’ marks the culmination of a long musical love affair. In spring 2008, Johnny Depp was in his sun-drenched, art-deco home studio in LA – taking a breather from shooting Public Enemies in Chicago – painting a portrait of his recently departed dog, Moo, when something stopped him in his tracks. A song drifting from a friend’s iPod. A song about an owner and his dog stoically preparing for death. The song was The Cold Acre, by Augie March. Now, nearly twenty years later, Johnny gets to release Glenn’s solo record on his very own label
