ARTHUR BROWN comments: “My life in music has been rooted in ‘The Blues’ – in blues, soul, and jazz”, the self-proclaimed “God of Hellfire” muses. “On ‘I Like Games’, Rik Patten and I are sitting in ‘Down and Dirty Blues’. Lightning Hopkins was one of my great influences. Another was Howlin’ Wolf – and I admire how raw and immediate they both are in their different ways. Bessie Smith, Etta James, and early Tina Turner are equally passionate about direct feelings. Here’s hoping you enjoy the roots and raw energy conjured up in this track, which paved a fundamental part of my ‘long long road’. I am gladly taking this opportunity to pay homage and give thanks to those trailblazers, who set my musical world alight.”
