Russian doom metallers return with a new record
On their first full-length since 2010’s “Messio,” Moscow four piece comprising members Mr.D, Mr.W, Mr.S, Mr. Y reckon they’ve created a hammering musical amalgam that runs the gamut from doom, sludge, ambient and a ferocious slashing fury that comes with brutal abruptness.
An overwhelming atmosphere of anguish rigorously contrasts a cataclysmic fury raging against both the corporeal and ethereal. All is tenaciously rooted in a vast blackened atmosphere of occultism that hurls listeners into a boundless world: equal parts desolation, misery and rage. ‘Corpus’ is Aethyr’s fierce statement of its uncompromising stance against all coercion.
