British guitarist Aaron Keylock is thrilled to announce that Keylock, the Traveling Rock & Roll Circus will release their second single “Shine On Me”, on 28 February 2020 via 7Hz Productions (Warner ADA). The band will showcase the single when they perform on the Sunday at Planet Rock Winter’s End, which runs 28 Feb to 1 March 2020 – the track went straight onto the station’s B-list.
Keylock have unlocked the door to a treasure trove of golden seventies sounds, and the good-times five piece wear their heart on their sleeve for this banger of a release.
Aaron himself says: “‘Shine On Me’ is a gospel-filled Rock ‘n Roll song, a statement of what this style of music means to us, it’s more about feeling and honesty of what you’re saying. We developed the song over the last year playing shows all over Europe with the crowd singing it back to us each night. That’s the power of the song, it’s a celebration of the sound of Keylock.”
Completing the band line up with solid groove and soul are Jonnie Hodson (vocals), Conor Coterill (Bass), Thom Carter (Organ and Keys) and Joe Major (Drums).
Jonnie says of ‘Shine On Me’, “It’s one of those songs that really embodies that celebration we talk about live, everyone firing off each other onstage. One of the highlights playing it live is hearing a few thousand people, who’d never heard the song before, singing along: incredible!”
Keylock rock their way through influences ranging from Free, The Faces, The Allman Brothers but most of all, this band has its roots embedded in the long extended jams of The Grateful Dead and will often stretch their live arrangements into truly psychedelic and mesmerizing jam sessions.
The band have been gigging throughout Europe, including UK supports for Mason Hill, building up their chops and brotherhood together. They have truly settled into their new musical direction and laid down “Shine On Me” at London’s Stakeout studios, produced and mixed by Spanish producer Guillermo ‘Will’ Maya (The Answer, Voodoo Vegas, Panic Cell).
So, get your flares and cowboy boots on; light a candle and some mellow incense and finally, kick back to the rock n roll sunshine coming out of your speakers that is Keylock the Traveling Rock ‘n’ Roll Circus.
