Second edition of EP – with a Lemmy tribute
Psychedelic Witchcraft released acclaimed first EP “Black Magic Man” in summer 2015 through Taxi Driver Records.
First pressing limited edition 10” vinyl record went sold out very quickly, and now band and label are announcing a second pressing whose release is planned for the end of February 2016: limited edition colored 12” vinyl record, new cover artwork and a bonus track.
The new cover is an illustration by British poster artist Matt Wilkins, and the bonus track is a tribute to Lemmy titled “The Dark Lord” by psychedelic rock band Sam Gopal, who he was playing with in 1969.
This is what Psychedelic Witchcraft’s leader Virginia Monti said about the release of this new version of her debut EP:”I’m so excited for the reissue of “Black Magic Man”, I really wouldn’t expect a sold out and a second pressing when I first uploaded “Angela” on Youtube. I’m very happy again to collaborate with Taxi Driver for the release of this new edition, because they’re the ones who made Psychedelic Witchcraft project possible and they always supported me in good and bad times from the beginning. We decided to add the cover of “The Dark Lord” by Sam Gopal, that we played live very often, as a bonus track: a thought that came to mind spontaneously after the tragic news of Lemmy’s death. For us, as for everyone I think, Lemmy has been such an inspiration not only for his music, but also as a huge artist and person, and our best way to honour him was to include one of his songs in our EP’s reissue.”
The new version of “Black Magic Man” will be soon available in streaming on label and band’s Bandcamp page and preorder of the limited edition second pressing vinyl record will be announced by Taxi Driver Records and Psychedelic Witchcraft in the next weeks.
