| Justin Hayward is delighted to announce that a brand new single entitled single entitled ‘Hello, Young Lovers’ is out this week. This release, through Universal, lands to coincide with his twelve-date ‘The Story In Your Eyes’ Tour of the UK in October. He said of the release, “I have loved the songs of Rodgers and Hammerstein II since I was a boy. My mother, who was a fair pianist, bought the songbook of ‘The King and I’ after she had been to see the movie, and this song always seemed to express something so kind that an older person might say – now, I am that person and can say it from the heart”. “I started recording the song just for my own personal pleasure, but after a couple of hours I realised it could actually be a record and I got serious. The orchestral arrangements of Alfred Newman and Ken Darby are magical and that evening myself and my recording partner Alberto Parodi experimented with surrounding my track (of guitars, bass, keyboards and vocal) with their orchestrations and the effect was beautiful. Alberto’s friend Roberto, who plays old fashioned accordion, came round, and in one take it was perfect”. Justin plays his 1955 Martin D28 guitar and his 1963 Red Gibson ES 335, and Alberto and Justin, between them, play all keyboards. The accompanying track made available with ‘Hello, Young Lovers’ is a live version of Justin’s song ‘Haunted’ which was recorded at The New York Society Ethical Culture and features longstanding tour musicians Julie Ragins, Karmen Gould and Mike Dawes. Known principally as the vocalist, lead guitarist and composer for The Moody Blues, his is an enduring talent that has helped to define the times in which he worked. Possessing one of the most distinctive voices in rock music, as well as being the driving force behind The Moody Blues, Justin penned classics like ‘Nights in White Satin’, ‘Question’, ‘New Horizons’, ‘I Know You’re Out There Somewhere’, ‘Tuesday Afternoon’, ‘Story In Your Eyes, ‘The Voice’ and ‘Your Wildest Dreams’. As well as his work with The Moody Blues, Justin has released seven solo studio albums and continues to be in high demand as a performer across the world – and especially in the US and the UK. Justin Hayward describes ‘Hello, Young Lovers’as “one of the best recordings I have ever made”, his fans are sure to agree, and it shows that his creative spark burns as brightly as ever. |
