Dave Pen is a UK south coast-based vocalist and guitarist who is co-frontman with the art-rock collective Archive, who have built a huge continental fanbase across three decades of activity that has seen them sell out arena shows and achieve Top 10 chart success in multiple territories. He is also one half of BirdPen and has made two albums as We Are Bodies with the composer Robin Foster.

‘Life Inside The Feeder Mind’ is a new solo album by Pen that traverses alternative and progressive rock, atmospheric and epic post-punk, subtle psychedelia and electronica. “These songs come from a dark and often confused state of mind,” he has stated. “Our world is one of continued reminders of growing uncertainty, so I used the writing of them as some sort of sonic therapy. After all, aren’t all our brains in constant feed mode, with our mouths wide open to be drip-fed fear and worry, with just an occasional morsel of hope?”

‘Life Inside The Feeder Mind’ comes four years after Pen’s debut solo effort, ‘Abran Wish & The Light Party’, and has drawn comparison to the likes of Thom Yorke and Massive Attack. It includes the singles ‘No Hiding’ VISUALISER, ‘Life Life Life Life Life Life Life Life’ VIDEO and ‘Feedermind’ VIDEO.

Pen is also a keen ultra-runner and a documentary entitled ‘Run Again’ about his participation in the ‘Spine Race’ – a 268 mile footrace across the backbone of England in the dead of winter – is about to receive two UK screenings, having had a European premiere in Paris on 12th November in front of 2500 fans.

Having already won Jury awards at several international festivals, ‘Run Again’ explores the range of emotions experienced when taking on such a huge challenge. Intercut with footage of Archive as the band returned to the live circuit following the pandemic, director Alexis Berg has captured something beautiful and engaging that tells a unique story TRAILER.

Both of the UK screenings will include a Q&A with Pen, with the event in London also featuring a live set by the Archive collective.
