Australian rocker Cassidy Paris has today issued ‘Walking On Fire’ as the second single from her forthcoming debut album, ‘New Sensation’, which is set for release on 8th December via Frontiers. It follows ‘Danger’, which appeared in early October as the album and a November UK tour were announced.
Raised on classic hard rock and inspired by fellow female artists such as Lzzy Hale, Joan Jett, Pink, Pat Benatar and Avril Lavigne, the fiercely determined Paris is on a mission to inspire a new generation of fans not only to listen to rock ‘n’ roll, but also to pick up a guitar instead of a phone.
Aged just 20, Paris has already toured the UK, US and Japan, as well as numerous shows in her home territory. She is now primed to launch herself internationally with ‘New Sensation’ and plays nine UK shows with compatriots Wicked Smile and others, as well as two festival slots just ahead of its release. Paris met the Canadian musician Paul Laine (ex-Danger Danger, The Defiants) when she was just 11, with the vocalist and multi-instrumentalist taking her under his wing in a unique mentoring role, helping to develop her artistic and songwriting ability, collaborating on and producing her music.
Wanting to deliver a strong message in her songs almost from the get-go, 2018 saw the release of ‘Stand’, a heartfelt track about ‘standing up for yourself’ as a young woman. She has maintained this stance, promoting anti-bullying at performances in schools around the Melbourne area, while she is also an active campaigner for the worldwide organisation ‘Metalheads Against Bullying’.
Paris has built a strong connection with her growing worldwide fanbase with international tours and participation in the New Wave of Classic Rock WebFest. Her talent has also been recognised by the guitar giant Fender, who have made her an endorsee of Fender Squier Guitars.
